More Transportation Insurance

Specializing in limo insurance, taxi insurance, non-emergency medical transportation insurance and many other transportation type risks helps us know those industries better than other agents.

It is important for us to develop solutions, and make recommendations for our customers. Whether it is a basic, no-frills approach or a comprehensive insurance program containing DOT compliance issues, driver selection/training programs, drug/alcohol testing procedures, we can accommodate the owner-operator as well as the largest fleets.

Below are additional transportation insurance offerings that Professional Insurance can provide to you to ensure that your company is covered correctly at an affordable cost.

Liability Coverage

Auto liability coverage is mandatory in most states. Drivers are legally required to purchase at least the minimum amount of liability coverage set by state law. Liability coverage has two components:

Bodily injury liability may help pay for costs related to another person’s injuries if you cause an accident.

Property damage liability may help pay for damage you cause to another person’s property while driving.

Towing Coverage

The exact services offered by this type of coverage will vary by company, but they may include the following towing, tire changes, jump starts, lockout assistance, and gas or oil delivery

Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage

If you’re hit by a driver who doesn’t have insurance, uninsured motorist coverage may help pay for your medical bills or, in some states, repairs to your vehicle. If you’re hit by an underinsured driver, that means they have car insurance but their liability limits aren’t enough to cover your resulting medical bills. That’s where underinsured motorist coverage may help.

GAP Insurance

Gap insurance is an optional car insurance coverage that helps pay off your auto loan if your car is totaled or stolen and you owe more than the car’s depreciated value. Gap insurance may also be called “loan/lease gap coverage.” This type of coverage is only available if you’re the original loan- or leaseholder on a new vehicle. Gap insurance helps pay the gap between the depreciated value of your car and what you still owe on the car.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive may help cover damage to your car from things like theft, fire, hail or vandalism. If your car is damaged by a covered peril, comprehensive coverage may help pay to repair or replace your vehicle (up to the vehicle’s actual cash value). This coverage has a deductible, which is the amount you’ll pay out of pocket before your insurer reimburses you for a covered claim. Comprehensive is typically an optional coverage — but your lender may require it if you’re leasing or paying off your vehicle.

Rental Reimbursement Coverage

Rental reimbursement coverage helps you pay for transportation expenses, such as a rental car or public transportation fare, while your own vehicle is being repaired after a covered insurance claim. It does not apply if your vehicle needs routine maintenance work or if you need to rent a car on vacation. Rental reimbursement coverage may be called “rental car coverage” or “transportation expense coverage.” It’s typically an optional coverage on a car insurance policy which means you need to add it to your policy and pay an extra premium for it.

Collision Coverage

If you’re involved in an accident with another vehicle, or if you hit an object such as a fence, collision coverage may help pay to repair or replace your car (up to its actual cash value and minus your deductible). Collision coverage is typically optional. It may be required, however, by your vehicle’s leaseholder or lender.

Classic Car Insurance

A big difference between a classic car and a regular vehicle is the insurance value of the vehicle. If a fully restored 1960s roadster is in an accident or stolen, an insurance appraiser can’t easily pull estimates of comparable cars from a website and give you a fair value of the vehicle or the necessary repairs.  Classic car insurance takes the guesswork out of that by having an “agreed value” placed on the vehicle by the owner and insurance company.

Medical Payments Coverage

If you, your passengers or family members who are driving the insured vehicle are injured in an accident, medical payments coverage may help pay for costs associated with the injuries. Covered costs may include hospital visits, surgery, X-rays and more. Medical payments coverage is required in some states and optional in others.
